Mitigating Three-Phase imbalance in residential distribution networks with Ampersure ASVG

Features: In residential areas, the load imbalance is high, leading to increased transformer noise and higher losses. The compensation equipment is required to accurately compensate for the three-phase unbalanced current.

Mitigating Three-Phase imbalance in residential distribution networks with Ampersure ASVG

Project background: A public transformer (10kV/380V) in the distribution network of Changzhou encounter severe current imbalance issue during peak electricity usage periods. To reduce the imbalance in the three-phase load of the public transformer and mitigate issues such as single-phase overload and voltage non-compliance caused by the imbalance, a 75A three-phase imbalance compensation device was installed .

Before the installation of ASVG, the system's three-phase current was monitored . It can be observed that the three-phase current imbalance is significant, with the B-phase current reaching 149.5A, while the C-phase current is only 13.1A.

After ASVG is installed, the system three-phase current monitoring balance . It indicates ASVG effectively reduces the three-phase load imbalance of the public transformer, mitigating single-phase overload caused by the load imbalance.
