Correcting the power factor (PFC) is one of the significant goals in today’s electrical systems. There are multiple methods of power factor correction which are: passive, active and hybrid systems. The Passive Power Factor Correction (PFC) often uses capacitors or inductors for power factor correction. Active PFC uses power electronics to change the power factor dynamically and in real-time as the load changes. Hybrid Systems combines the two methodologies to boost efficiency. Each of these types has its strengths and can be used in different situations so it is important that the customers identify the problem and the related solution accurately and effectively.
